Which Clearly Basics products do you recommend for normal-combination skin?
If you have normal skin, all you need is 3 simple steps in your routine: Cleanse with So Fresh (designed for all skin types), treat with Clear Out at night to keep skin looking youthful, and follow with Protective Moisturizer for healthy, glowing skin.
If you have combination skin, you might want to use different products for the different areas of your face. Cleanse the oily areas with Balancing Cleanser and wash all other areas with So Fresh. You could also use Matte Hydrator for oil control and apply Protective Moisturizer on the drier and more sensitive areas of your face.
If you have normal-combination skin with acne, we recommend the All Clear Acne Kit to treat acne and prevent future breakouts.
Which Clearly Basics products do you recommend for oily skin?
If you have oily, acne-prone skin and have not had irritation from skincare in the past, the Acne Kit for Oily Skin is the set for you. It includes Clear Out Extra Strengthto flush out stubborn clogs, Stop Spot to treat existing and emerging acne, Lighten Up to fade the appearance of red acne marks, and Matte Hydrator to help normalize skin’s oil production. Just add on Balancing Cleanser and you have your complete routine for oily skin.
Which Clearly Basics products do you recommend for dry or sensitive skin?
If you have dry or sensitive acne-prone skin, the very aptly named Acne Kit for Sensitive/Dry Skin is designed for you. It includes Clear Out to flush out clogs, Stop Spot to treat existing and emerging acne, Lighten Up to fade the appearance of red acne marks, and Protective Moisturizer to nourish the skin barrier and improve skin health. Just add on So Fresh as your cleanser and you have your complete routine for dry/sensitive skin.
To prevent irritation, it’s best to give your skin time to get used to the strength of Clear Out. Apply Clear Out only once every three nights for the first week. Slowly increase use to every other night and eventually, to every night. You can apply Protective Moisturizer before you apply Clear Out to lessen its strength until your skin adjusts.
What products do you recommend for aging skin?
While Clear Out works wonders for acne-prone skin, it’s also great for aging skin with retinol to combat the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. We recommend complementing Clear Out with these essentials for healthy, glowing, and youthful-looking skin:
T.L.C. - packed with AHAs, a BHA, and niacinamide to visibly brighten skin and tighten pores
Protective Moisturizer – the antioxidants and peptides strengthen skin barrier, boost collagen, and make skin more resilient to blushing which can cause premature aging
So Fresh - your everyday cleanser to prevent over-drying skin
Do your products help remove pigmentation?
Absolutely! If you’re looking for a way to recover and heal your skin from pigmentation (red or brown marks), Clearly Basics is the way to go.
Lighten Up is designed to reduce the appearance of red marks, especially those left after acne has cleared. Dark Mark Defense is perfect for visibly fading brown post-acne marks, sun spots, age spots, and melasma. Trust the process, stay consistent with applying these products, and you’ll very soon see results!
I have rosacea/psoriasis/cystic acne/nodular acne. Can I use Clearly Basics products?
Clear Out was designed to clear clogged pores on acne-prone skin. If you have rosacea, psoriasis, cystic acne, or nodular acne, please consult your dermatologist.
I am currently using topical prescription medications for acne. Are Clearly Basics products safe to use with prescriptions?
As Clear Out and Stop Spot contain powerful acne-fighting actives such as retinol, AZA, and salicylic acid, it is best to consult with your dermatologist before you use them.
We do, however, have a few products that can complement your acne prescriptions. Originally designed to be used with prescriptions, Protective Moisturizer soothes skin, calms irritation, and strengthens your skin barrier. Lighten Up also helps calm redness, foster healing, reduce the appearance of red post-acne marks. As for a face wash, we recommend the pH-balanced So Fresh. It gives a gentle cleanse while your skin’s healing from acne. It also lets you know when you’ve washed off sufficient oils so you never over-strip your skin. This helps prevent dryness and irritation.
