Emma Taylor, 15, a student from Manchester had struggled with severe acne for over 6 years.
“I used to look in the mirror and try to imagine what I would look like with clear skin … I couldn’t.”
She tried an endless list of skincare products and diets to no avail.
After three years of breakouts, Emma managed to get off the wait list for a dermatologist. Antibiotics only made things worse but six hard months of Accutane helped to calm down her cysts.
However, she was left with persistent red acne scars and could not find a product to fade away the red scars. She used a number of acids, peels and cleaners which only irritated her skin, leaving her cheeks flushed and sensitive.

The #acnecommunity had been talking about Clearly Basics and she was happy to find a formulation specifically designed for post-acne red scars. These red marks are residual blood left behind from the inflammation and the Lighten Up uses essential oils to flush out this residual blood.
Within a month, the Lighten Up had significantly faded the appearance of her red scars.
To knock down the general redness in her cheeks, Emma used the Protective Moisturizer which is loaded with peptides. These amino acids are the building blocks for your skin and paired with antioxidants, the Protective Moisturizer can significantly reduce redness, sensitivity and improve the overall texture of your skin.
Emma saw significant improvements when using the Moisturizer and Lighten Up. They were originally designed to counter the harsh effects of accutane/isotretinoin.
In order to keep her pores clear and to speed up the results of the Lighten Up and Moisturizer, Emma uses the Clear Out every evening. She still gets pimples occasionally but the Clear Out helps to flatten them quickly.
The angry cysts have become a thing of the past!

UPDATE: July 9, 2019
@myacnepage My scarring at the moment, i am honestly very very happy with it. When i think back to almost 1 year ago i feel very lucky to have skin like i do now! My scars are still here, they remind me daily of the struggles that i went through but they push me to keep going and that’s why i’m posting about it right now.
I would say that the product that helped these reduce in prominence was @clearlybasics LIGHTEN UP (not an AD) and you can use my coupon code EMMA if you do fancy any money off, but this is in no way sponsored i’m just voicing my opinions. The three near my temple are definitely most prominent, then i have lots of dipped ones that you can see when i stand directly under a light.
These used to make me feel very conscious but now i’m finding it easier, remember it will get better i don’t know when but acne always get better don’t dwell on your acne but focus on being the confident, amazing person you are acne or no acne!
My skin yesterday, after a full day! I have been getting small spots it I think this is stress because of exams coming up, so I’m not too bothered about them. – I started using Clearly Basics and now a lot of those spots have gone… no joke!! ❤️ – Emma xxx

@a_triple_shot_of_e Opening up about my acne struggle!
Most of my acne comes from wearing makeup all day & then going right into sports. Even though I would use facial wipes before I started sports, I still broke out! The more I would try to hide it, the worst I made it. I have tried everything… when @clearlybasics reached out I thought, why not try it && surprisingly IT WORKED!!! After a few weeks my skin was clear.
Now unfortunately since I have been out of it, my acne is coming back. I will always be honest with y’all & if something doesn’t work, I will let you know!!! #clearlybasics WORKS!
@startingtolovemyself ✨Not a pimple in sight!!!✨
It’s been about 3 weeks since I started using @clearlybasics clear out, lighten up and the protective moisturizer (the complete trio) and my skin has improved so much and I definitely think it’s from the Clear Out formula most of all!
It really is a miracle in a bottle! I’m excited to see how my skin changes even more in the next few weeks and months using them!
@amys.acne.journey Yes I know the lighting is different but look at the difference in the texture 😍. Yes I still have acne, that hasn’t gone away however…the fact that my texture has improved has increased my confidence so much. I really do believe this is all down to @clearlybasics I’ve been using their power duo for about 3 weeks and I’ve noticed such a difference in the size of my acne spots…my face doesn’t hurt as much nor is as itchy as it was.
I would definitely recommend giving them a whirl it’s the only products that I can honestly say has made any difference to my skin. The difference it has made in 3 weeks is fab!
@brittaneyshanae I swear the Power Duo (Clear Out and Lighten Up) are a GOD-send! I’ve been using both consistently for 3 months now and my skin has NEVER looked or felt better! I haven’t experienced a breakout since March and more than 80% of my hyperpigmentation is GONE!
I’m so grateful to have finally found a product that actually works for my skin!
If you’re dealing with acne breakouts and hyperpigmentation, you should def research Clearly Basics.
@skinwithalisha @clearlybasics helped maintain my skin after accutane and honestly their products have helped so many, I get many DM’s thanking me for recommending clearly basics and how it’s helped them.
If I knew about @clearlybasics prior to accutane I would’ve definitely gone with using Clear Out for sure!
