Mim Padgham, 23, a primary school teacher had suffered from clogged pores for the past 6 years.
“It was a knock on my confidence to cover my marks with makeup everyday but it was necessary as young children didn’t understand what acne was. My students would often ask me why I was so dotty and mistaken my acne for chicken pox.”
Mim spent thousands on masks, scrubs, washes, and lotions which claimed to be effective at stopping acne. When they failed to meet their claims, the fallback excuse would be due to “hormonal acne”, which can’t be controlled.
She starting taking contraceptives in an effort to regulate her hormones and she also took antibiotics and prescription topical medication but they did not have a lasting effect to slow down the breakouts.
In addition, the prescription topical lotion had an overdrying effect causing her skin to overcompensate by producing extra oil and leaving her face constantly with an oily sheen. She discontinued using the prescription topical lotion but remained on antibiotics.

Once she stopped using antibiotics, Mim started using the Clear Out and noticed a difference almost immediately. Similar to her prescription topical lotions, the Clear Out contains a retinoid that flushes out dead skin trapped inside the pore.
However, the Clear Out is gentle and didn’t cause overdrying or stinging that she had experienced with the prescription topical lotion. This is because the Clear Out combines AZA+retinol in order to drive better results with less side effects.
“Within a month, most of my actives were gone and I was only left with post-acne red marks.”
She had been misinformed in the past that the post-acne marks she had were lasting scars and the only way to get rid of them was to use dermaroller needles to her face.
Mim didn’t want to risk permanent scarring from needling at home and visiting an aesthetician was out of the question since they charged £800 for the session.
“I couldn’t find a skincare brand that made a topical lotion effective in fading post-acne red marks but Clearly Basics made a formulation for me!”
For the first time in years, Mim has gone weeks without using green concealer and can go to work without makeup.
“I’m a lot happier and confident. The Lighten Up has saved me so much money as I no longer need to buy expensive foundation to cover up my marks.”
Mim was worried that she would get breakouts just before her period but was pleasantly surprised when she remained clog-free due to the Clear Out.
Many have asked how she beat hormonal acne: she only uses very few products and Clearly’s Power Duo (Clear Out + Lighten Up) in her skincare routine.

ROUTINE UPDATE AM (top) PM (bottom) *The @clearlybasics toner is missing in the evening section as I’ve run out so can’t take a picture!* Please note I only use the @thebodyshop seaweed pore cleanser once a week and the @clearlybasics cleanser the rest of the time. I’ve also added my primer to my routine as it was a 🔥 question in my inbox. I also use @rejuviss 5-in-1 dermarolling kit every weekend to tackle my indented scars (I’ve used this for a couple of months now! I reviewed this against Banish too if you want to scroll through and find it). Use code MIM10 for 10% off! Don’t forget you can get 10% off @clearlybasics with the code ‘acneisntugly’. Out of everything I’ve tried over the 6 years I’ve battled acne on and off its by far stood out the most of being the most effective with no side effects (after the initial ‘purge’). I’ve used nothing but clearly (and I truly mean NOTHING! I was never on roacutane as people assume, I can’t go on it! And I’ve not been on any diets, medications or had any perscriptions) for 8 months now and it still exceeds my expectations! #skincare #skincareroutine #skinproducts #acneproducts #acnemanagement

Skin still going strong 💪 Used the @clearlybasics cleanser, toner, clear out and protective moisturiser last night. This morning is all about the cleanser and matte hydrator 🥰 (I actually don’t need to use the lighten up every single day now as my hyperpigmentation is gone!). Remember you can get 10% off with the code ‘acneisntugly’ 💷 (remember it has the money back guarantee if you need that little safety net). If you’re worried at all or skeptical please see my journey on my account! I’ve used nothing but clearly basics for 7 months. No doctors, dermatologists, medication, diets or lifestyle changes. I’m as sharing my journey with trialling this product for those of us that can’t go on roacutane and have hit rock bottom. I thought all my acne treatment routes were exhausted and had no other options as I’d tried it all. I began to accept my acne and accept that was how my skin would look. I’m not claiming clearly will clear your skin forever and ‘cure’ you. We can’t cure acne. What I can tell you is, it’s reduced my hyperpigmentation and redness completely and I haven’t had a cyst in over 5 months. My breakouts have reduced significantly and they don’t last as long on my face. My whole experience with acne has drastically changed. It’s gone from severe to mild in under a year just from consistently using high quality ingredients. #skin #skincare #acne #healthyskin #happyskin #clearlybasics

@mysevereacneblog I’ve been using @clearlybasics for over 4 months but here’s a difference from June 3rd and August 2nd!
The ingredients in @clearlybasics Clear Out is AMAZING for hyperpigmentation.
A complete GAME CHANGER!
@_myskinstory 😭 I feel like I’m an addict and someone has taken away my drugs 😂
Saturday night I came to the end of my @clearlybasics Clear Out bottle. After consistently applying it every night for 3 months along side Niacinamide & Zinc so last night I had nothing to apply. (Right picture: a few days previous. Left picture: This morning) As soon as I woke up I knew it different feel great! 😭
Regardless off the other amazing benefits that a 2% Retinol & AZA has; I JUST WANT MY GLOW BACK!! I’ll dedicate my next post to the ingredients and how they ‘clearly’ work!!
@startingtolovemyself ✨Not a pimple in sight!!!✨
It’s been about 3 weeks since I started using @clearlybasics Clear Out, Lighten Up and the Protective Moisturizer (the Complete Trio) and my skin has improved so much and I definitely think it’s from the Clear Out formula most of all!
It really is a miracle in a bottle! I’m excited to see how my skin changes even more in the next few weeks and months using them!
@skinwithak @clearlybasics helped maintain my skin after prescription oral medication and honestly their products have helped so many, I get many DM’s thanking me for recommending Clearly Basics and how it’s helped them.
If I knew about @clearlybasics prior to my course of prescription oral medication I would’ve definitely gone with using Clear Out for sure!
